The following molding methods are commonly used in the processing of metal products, in addition to the previously mentioned casting, forging, stamping and extrusion:
Rolling: The metal billet is passed through the gap between two rotating rolls so that it is compressed and extended, thus obtaining metal products of certain shapes and sizes, such as plates, tubes, profiles and so on. According to the different rolling temperatures, can be divided into hot rolling and cold rolling. Hot rolling is suitable for processing large-size metal billets with high production efficiency, but the precision and surface quality of the products are relatively low; cold rolling can obtain higher dimensional accuracy and surface quality, and is often used to produce high-precision thin plates and strips.
Drawing: the metal billet through a mold die hole, so that it produces plastic deformation under the action of tensile force, so as to obtain the required shape and size of the metal products, such as steel wire, pipe, etc.. The drawing process can improve the strength and surface quality of the metal, commonly used in the production of various specifications of metal wires and tubes.
Spinning: Metal sheet or pipe is fixed on the mandrel of the spinning machine, and pressure is exerted on the metal billet through the spinning wheel to produce plastic deformation in the process of rotating, so as to obtain hollow rotary body metal products of the required shapes, such as various shapes of heads, tanks, bowls and plates. Spinning processing has the advantages of high productivity, good product quality and low cost, and is suitable for processing various thin-walled, high-precision hollow rotary body parts.
Powder Metallurgy: Mix the metal powder with the appropriate amount of additives, through pressing, sintering and other processes, so that it becomes a metal product with a certain shape, size and performance. Powder metallurgy can produce high-precision, complex shape of the parts, and at the same time can effectively control the composition and organization of the material, improve the utilization rate of the material, commonly used in the production of machinery parts, automotive parts, cemented carbide and so on.
